Red flags to check before anything else
- It asks for your password, or to "connect" your account with more access than a public username needs.
- It wants you to install something. A real web service doesn't need an APK or an extension.
- It promises thousands of viewers for free. Nobody pays servers to give that away.
- It claims to be "undetectable" or "100% safe." No provider can promise that on TikTok.
- It has no company details, terms or refund policy.
A legitimate paid service only needs your public username, never your password.
Why exchanges are a bad idea on TikTok
"Watch-for-watch" and "like-for-like" groups feel free and harmless. TikTok's Community Guidelines see it differently:
- They prohibit trading, marketing or providing access to services that artificially increase engagement, and using AI or bot accounts to drive traffic.
- For LIVE specifically, they list tricking or pressuring people into engaging, such as "like-for-like" schemes, among the things that make a LIVE ineligible to be recommended in For You.
So an exchange can cost you the one thing you wanted: being shown to new people.
TikTok removes fake engagement at huge scale
TikTok publishes its own numbers. For the first half of 2024, it said it:

TikTok also said that in Q2 2024 it removed over 94% of videos that broke its fake engagement rules before anyone reported them. Free methods that actually bring people into your LIVE
These cost time, not money, and they're what keeps people once they arrive:
- Post videos that point to your LIVE. Videos are how most strangers find you, and followers they bring are your first LIVE viewers.
- Go LIVE when your followers are online. Use your follower activity and test two time slots. See the best time to go live on TikTok.
- Open with a hook. The first 30 seconds decide whether a newcomer stays.
- Say what's happening every few minutes for people who just joined.
- Ask one-word questions and use names. People who hear their own name stay longer.
- Go LIVE with guests of a similar size. Each brings some of their audience.
